Happy Monday!

Hey guys, Sorry I am out today but I had that training...and needed a break from you guys! JK! Make sure to behave for Mr. Prouty today because he WILL tell me who doesn't. If I get a good report from him, each class will receive 10 points!

For today's assignment, it is simple and you guys CAN finish it with time to spare. If you do, as long as Mr. Prouty feels you've behaved well, you guys can have free time. As always, please please PLEASE stay in seats.

Here is the assignment:

Before Lunch:
On page 133, using the “Terms to Learn”, the students will define 4 of the 7 terms using only the section or the glossary. They need to include: 1. Word 2. Definition 3. Sentence from book 4. Sentence of my own 5. Synonym 6. Antonym 7. Picture. They can choose which 4. If students finish early, tell them to do the rest for extra points if they want.

After Lunch:
Read pages 130-131. Answer “Responding to literature” questions on 131.
When they have completed that, they will use the 6 vocab words on 130 and create 6 sentences of their own.

Hw: Complete the 6 vocab words in sentences, if did not finish in class.

Ok guys, I know you think it's a lot. But as long as you guys focus and work, you should have this done before the day is over.

If you miss me...here is a picture!

Homework!

For homework today, you have two assignments to complete. Some of you finished in class, so good job and you don't have any tonight.

1. Complete the 6 questions about the robots. Make sure to write the 1 sentence summary and give it a title.

2. Complete the writing prompt from school.

Writing Prompt. Write in complete sentences. Focus on periods, commas, and spelling. Must be a page long.
Choose one prompt. Subject=Writing. Title=Writing Prompt 1 or 2.

Option 1:  When I was 12 years old, the power of every house on my block went out for 6 hours. Imagine if the power went out in your house. What would you do? How would you keep yourself entertained?

Option 2: Tell me about one of the most difficult decision you ever made. What was it? Why was it hard? Did it work out? If you could, would you do it again?

Propaganda Poster Assignment

Good job this week on American Revolution propaganda. We spent the week viewing examples from the 1700s and discussing what makes them unique.

For your homework assignment, you have to create your own propaganda poster. You should have started in class already and finish for homework. Remember to include THREE things:

1. Some color to it! Make it look awesome!
2. One of the three techniques or tricks that we discussed.
        1. Stereotype
        2. Caption
        3. Symbolism

3. On the back, EXPLAIN your poster and what technique you used.

If you need help or are lost, click here for examples!

Have a great weekend!
